Who doesn't love a quick way to loose a few extra pounds? I have never been one to agree with diets, and even though I just tried this specific diet, although it's more of a cleanse, I actually still don't! I definitely say that eating healthy and maintaining a healthy diet is although harder to stay on pace, we all know gives you much better long term results!

Being comfortable in our own skin is definitely an ongoing struggle for all of us! I just recently had my second child, who is now 8 months old, and I had been feeling a little defeated when it came to my belly area! I will say that I do not feel fat by any means, because if I did, that would mean I have a diesease! No matter how we view ourselves we are all beautiful in our own individual ways! I actually struggled with gaining weight when I was a teenager and went through my own personal struggle of actually feeling too skinny! Most people would hate me when I would say I just want to gain 5 pounds! No matter where we are at in life, there will always be some sort of body shaming, whether it comes from our own self or others around us! I never understood how people thought it was okay to tell someone that they are too skinny and not think that it is any less harmful then telling someone they are too fat! You never know what anyone is going through, so as long as you know they are taking care of their body, you should never make anyone feel less than who they are!

I am now 28, two beautiful boys later, and when I struggle with a little extra weight it always seems to end up in my belly! Because I never got any stretch marks, wearing a bikini and knowing what my stomach used to look like(even tho I have earned my extra bit of belly fat) I decided to try this 7 day cabbage soup diet to introduce more veggies and fruit into my daily diet, as well as drinking a lot more water, because I had heard you do actually also see fast results!

CABBAGE SOUP RECIPE... πŸ’ͺ🏽

Cut up or buy diced vegetables..carrots, celery, green or red peppers, onions.  Using a large pot add olive oil and sautΓ©e veggies on medium heat until carrots are soft.

Then add 2 cartons(cups) of chicken broth or vegetable broth, I prefer chicken but totally your choice! Then add half a head of cabbage cut into small chunks. I also Added a can of diced tomatoes salted or that come with spices in the can! Then add as many different spices as you wish! I added 1 clove of garlic diced small, parsley flakes, fresh basil, and a lot of salt and pepper is super important! Let it come to a boil and then simmer on low until cabbage is soft! Taste as you go, but once the cabbage is tender and ready to eat, try it one more time and add more Salt and pepper at that point as opposed to adding too much before all the flavours are fully present!

Here is my review on my own personal 7 day challenge and what I found to work for me...
So day 1 I made the soup and love it. Buying and planning meals for the rest of your family is hard, when you want to eat it too. 8 glasses of water a day is tougher than you realize when your counting. Eating just fruit on day one is I think the hardest thing because I realized I eat way more vegetables than fruit. Fruit besides tomatoes, is not very satisfying for me!!

Day 2 was definitely easier. I was pretty hungry when I woke up so the baked potatoe was helpful for sure. Vegetables make up a lot more meal ideas for me so salads and just munching on any and all vegetables was easy for sure. The water came a lot easier too! I had about 10 glasses today, especially when it's my only drink I have been choosing in order to get in my minimum of 8!

Day 3 is definitely the easiest because it's veggies and fruit and so snacking I had more options! The water is much more natural now just having it all the time!

Day 4 is literally the worst! Yogurt, milk and bananas suck! lol! You have to eat a lot more cabbage soup on this day especially because I don't eat a lot of yogurt or bananas on the regular. Also these things aren't really meals so they didn't do much for me!! I think I had one glass of milk and just stuck to my water!

Day 5 tomatoes and protein seems easy but having 6-8 tomatoes was not attainable for me! Adding protein in your diet is always nice at this point because I am definitely a carnivore(meat lover) when it comes to my meal planning! My stomach has shrunk also so my meal portions have become smaller as well as feeling full consists with a lot less!

Day 6 veggies and protein, finally sounds like a meal to me! I started this diet on a Monday and so day 6 is a Saturday! Tomorrow is my last day and my purpose of this 7 day cabbage soup diet was to attain somewhat quicker results in loosing a little bit of my belly area!(I was hoping that area would feel less bloated and lighter) I am so ready to be done with this specific diet and continue to choose healthier options! Spinach, eggs, lean meats, is seeming much more doable now that I have really been paying attention to certain meals throughout my day! My water intake alone has changed my mood and just feeling more awake and focused day to day! I do not regret trying this diet/cleanse because I have never done anything like this before in my life, but I will say that it takes some serious dedication and I'm not sure if I will ever do it again to try and gain fast results! You always aren't supposed to workout on it because it is quite a change on your body and it's possible to feel weaker than normal on some days, although I didn't really struggle with that.  Working out and being aware of what I am putting into my body in order to feel and be consistent with my health I highly prefer!

Tomorrow is day 7 and I am so ready to eat smaller portions a lot more throughout the day as opposed to following a specific diet. Today was a busy day and I was not at home at all, therefore I did not have any cabbage soup! I technically only made it to day 6 because of how busy my Sunday was! I wish I could have finished stronger but I am very happy with my results! I actually wore a pair of high waisted shorts that I have not been able to fit in comfortably since having my second baby 8 months ago and today I had extra breathing room! Yay! Haha!

All in all, I am actually quite happy with my results and although it's not a diet I will be doing anytime soon, if even at all, I will say I'm glad I tried it! It does work, but it is definitely tough because you are only doing it for 7 days, so you are making significant sacrifices from what most people are used to! I would love to hear if anyone else has tried this 7 day cabbage soup diet in the past, or if you are planning on trying it out in the future! I wish you all the best! And just remember your health comes first, so if you are feeling weak and not yourself, don't think that if you stop that you are a failure! Nothing is more important than feeling healthy and being comfortable in your own skin!

Thanks for stopping by!πŸ’œ
