Homemade lasagna in a few easy steps!

image.jpg

I was always so nervous to make my own lasagna from scratch! I would always opt for buying one for convience! Since I eat gluten free, (not by choice) it really wasn't that much more convient considering not every grocery store even sells gluten free products! So I decided one day to look up a recipe, call my Mum and confirm any questions I may have had! Lol! My Mom is always cooking and so I knew I needed to start making more things homemade!

I buy already prepared sauce to make my life a little easier(because I usually make homemade sauce as well.) I like the sensations brand, by compliments, and I also love the Classico pre made sauce as well! The spinach and cheese works great for some extra flavour

I start with cutting up 2 sausages(Oktoberfest, mild or honey garlic) into tiny little cube pieces.

I purée the sauce so that the spinach isn't visible for my 3 year old! He is a great eater but the odd time he sees something green he wants to take it out! Once puréed I add the sausages in and mix that together.

Then I add the ricotta into a bowl along with some shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheese. 1 egg, fresh parsley and basil 1 garlic clove, salt and pepper and mix that all together.

Then I butter the bottom of whatever cooking dish you choose. Add a little sauce on the bottom, then a row of noodles without overlapping them. Then more sauce, my ricotta mixture, more sauce, more noodles, then repeat! I always finish with a layer of sauce then provolone slices on the very top so that it nice and cheesy on top!

Ready to store in the fridge, before dinner time!

I preheat the oven to 400 degrees Celsius and cook for 30 minutes covered with tin foil! Then the last 10 minutes uncovered!

We had it for dinner tonight and it was my best lasagna yet! It can only get better the more times you make it! Let me know if you give it a try! I would love to know how it turns out! Enjoy!
