7 things to remember to do before your big day...
1. SPA DAY.
Whether this includes a facial, mani, pedi, hot stone massage or all of the above. This is a must. Your the bride. If it's for your bachelorette, or just you and your maid of honour- Enjoy this part.
Tip- A facial should be done at least 2 weeks in advance in case your skin breaks out from the deep cleaning. Never the day before your big day!
2. GET YOUR BROWS DONE.
Shape your brows. Get them cleaned up. Make sure you don't forget about them. Probably one of the most important things to get taken care of, at least 3-7 days before your wedding day.
3. GET A MAKEUP TRIAL.
I always suggest getting a makeup trial. What if you think you want a natural look and then realize that it's my wedding day, I'm going to go for it and try a smokey eye. This is what your trial is for. Get a smokey eye, and maybe this look (that isn't something you would do everyday) will surprise you. If you try it ahead of time, take some photos and realize how much fun it will be for the wedding day- Or heck, if you completely decide against it- a trial is always worth it.
4. WASH YOUR FACE EVERY NIGHT.
Why let your everyday makeup (even if it's a little bit your putting on) sit on your face all day, AND ALL NIGHT? Think about what your doing. Get off that couch before you go to bed and WASH YOUR FACE. Put wipes beside your bed. Whatever you need to do, to make sure you aren't sleeping with your makeup on- DO IT. The best thing you can do before your big day- and EVERYDAY! Make this a habit!
5. MOISTURIZE EVERY MORNING & NIGHT.
After we clean our face, our skin is thirsting for that moisture. If you want to use an SPF in your mosuturizer, you should be using this one in the mornings to protect your skin.
When we go to sleep, our skin is repairing all the damage it has been through during the day. Try and opt for a moisturizer that is specifically for night. That way you are getting the full benefits of total repair for your precious skin, while getting the benefits of what a good night sleep can do for us in many other ways.
6. GET 8 HOURS OF SLEEP. (As often as possible)
In the same way moisturizing rejuvenates our skin, so does sleep for our body.
Getting anywhere from 6 to 8 hours of sleep has been shown to have various benefits for our everyday life. We are busy people- especially leading up to our wedding day.
Some days we aren't going to get close to 8 hours, but making a conscious effort to try can make all the difference. And the day I would hope you try, is that night before your Wedding day. Being well rested will make a huge difference. I know sleepovers with your wedding party can occur on this night, but start it early! Have a fun night in!
Aim to get at least 6 hours this night, and if you love to sleep and so do your friends, then make this a must! Get your 8 hours in. You mind, body and skin, will be happy you did!
7. TRY NOT TO STRESS.
Yes I know, this is so much easier said than done.. I get it. (Key word- TRY) Some of us are laid back and some of us like to make the decisions.
Just be mindful of where you are directing your time. Make it clear from the beginning, you aren't going to get caught up in the little things. Who cares where people are sitting? Who cares if your maid of honour isn't doing what you've always thought she would do? If your day doesn't turn out the way the itinerary looks,(which let's be honest it most likely won't) don't worry about it. Your wedding day should be about the TWO of you! Make that the focus. And everything else won't be able to fail you. Stress takes years off your life. This day should be the beginning. Don't give it a reason not to be!
